Little Dragonfly

Little Dragonfly

On a winter's walk, crunching through the ice coated snow with a wee child friend, we were examining the pieces of trees and nature that rested on the surface of the snow in such contrast. There, I found the smallest maple seeds. Inspired by them I tucked them away and carried some home. They inspired small and freshly awakened dragonflies. Both the representation of seed and dragonfly, carry the wisdom to become something so vastly different from than what they begin. So the tiny dragonflies were born, flitting around a crocus flower, a juxtapose of seasons not coinciding. This piece is 9" tall and 7" wide. Set in a surreal backdrop of red stained wood canvas and a vintage metal frame. Sold to a private collection.
